The Holidays have finally arrived! We’ve partnered with Christiann Koepke to bring you her take on holiday decor and magical tree.
Let’s talk about feeding your friends before we dive into decor. You can set up a hot cocoa and candy station in the living room, which can become a permanent apart of your holiday decor. Leaving it up through the holidays means you are always ready to entertain. Here a few suggestions for the cocoa and candy station. Salted Caramel Cocoa, Double Chocolate Cocoa, Snowflake Marshmallows and this incredible Peppermint Bark. C&B has an excellent selection of holiday treats. They also make nice gifts.
On to decor! First, spend some time thinking about the overall look you want. There are so many directions you can go when decorating your living room for the holidays. If you want to “go big” this year I’ve got you covered. The key is to maximize the space and colors. You don’t have to go with all red and green. The traditional holiday colors can be used to add a festive touch (like these must have Cozy Weave Green Stockings). I used a white, gold, and silver as a base palette to create a luxe look. You’ll have plenty of options – C&B has an incredible assortment of ornaments! I especially love the Large Rose Gold Glitter Balls.
But first – before bringing a tree into your space, consider furniture and positioning. When you decide where to place the tree, be creative with the items that have to be re-positioned. For instance, I moved my couch back (with a friend) and brought my Jada Trunk front and center next to the tree. Turn something unexpected into a coffee table.
Another great holiday decor opportunity that so many overlook…is the tree skirt! Please skip the traditional tree skirt this year. As you can see, I took the route of a basket type look. This Abaca Tree Collar is a wonderful choice -or- if you are going with a more traditional festive look, check out this Peppermint Throw. Anything but the old “begging to be donated” tree skirt is always a great choice and way to keep things fresh.
To enhance the room, tree, and fireplace (if you happen to have one – if not find other safe places around the room) these Crystal Tea Light Candle Holders are perfection next to a mantle. And because the holiday season is all about the glow, add more candles! Choose from Balsam and Cedar Scented Candles, Green Pine Tree Candles, or this Chalet Silver Pillar Holder, and place throughout your house, mantle, or coffee table. Keep your scents safe by making sure every candle in a safe place. One last glow tip…the best way to lighten up your mantle and make it sparkle and glow, is to wrap the Twinkle Silver String Lights around Red Berry Garland.
