Grand Award from SGD goes to Marian Boswall
Marian Boswall has received the Grand Award from the Society of Garden Designers for her Reighton Wood garden. The garden was inspired by the natural landscape of the surrounding Kent Weald and features areas of dense grasses, with herbaceous perennials planted in borders with a backdrop of tree-lined vistas. Part formal garden, part woodland, Marian designed planting for a wildflower meadow, a vegetable garden, and enlarged the existing pond. The botanist owner wanted a garden that would please both pollinators and people, so Marian ‘chose plants for biodiversity’ that would attract ‘butterflies, birds and bees’. Upon receiving the award Marian said: ‘It is a huge honour for me and a great accolade for my studio […] my work is about creating places for the long term that sit well within their surroundings so I was delighted that the judges recognise this in their comments about Reighton Wood’.

Delancey Collection by Lanserring
Luxury kitchen company Lanserring have launched their new ‘Delancey’ collection, inspired by the flow of family life. Innovative use of high-end materials is what makes this design truly special – long runs of solid marble counter-tops are paired with a kitchen island that has been designed to appear as if carved from a single block of marble. The workbench, inspired by traditional butchers blocks, is crafted from bamboo rather than wood – as a material it is fully renewable and even has ‘self-healing’, naturally antibiotic properties.

Cox London’s Exclusive Chandelier for Collect
The Polydore Disc Chandelier has been created by husband and wife team Christopher and Nicola Cox to hang in the VIP room at the Collect fair which opens next Thursday. Over 1000 hours of painstaking work was required to assemble to piece, which was inspired by the shapes of natural fungi, particularly bracket mushrooms. 4500 individual hand-pulled Venetian glass leaves were attached to branch-like iron frame to create the stunning textured effect. The chandelier will be available to purchase at the Collect Fair which runs from 28th February until 3rd March at the Saatchi Gallery.
